Thanks to a birding friend, I was able to (complet Thanks to a birding friend, I was able to (complete) 2 birds with 1 (photo) today. I've looked in the windows of countless barns and corn cribs while driving and never have I ever seen an owl perched in the window. I mean we all know I love barns and for an owl to be included that's just a double whammy! And secondly, not only was this any owl, it was a rarer subspecies called the Subarctic Great Horned Owl that I've never seen before. It is much lighter in color - hardly any brown on it like the ones commonly found around here.
